The formula
ft = m ÷ 0.3048
0.3048 is exact by definition. This is the international foot, which since 1 January 2023 is the only foot in official US use. The US survey foot was deprecated at the end of 2022 and survives only for legacy coordinate systems.

The survey foot was retired in 2022
The United States used to have two feet. The international foot of exactly 0.3048 meters, and the US survey foot, defined slightly differently and larger by about two parts per million. NIST and NOAA's National Geodetic Survey deprecated the survey foot on 31 December 2022. Since 1 January 2023 it is deemed obsolete, and any data published from surveying or mapping in the US is expressed in the international foot, now called simply the foot.
It survives only for legacy applications, notably coordinates in the State Plane Coordinate Systems of 1927 and 1983, which NGS continues to support. If you aren't working in one of those systems, there is only one foot now, and it is the one this converter uses.
The same Federal Register notice redefined the chain, link, rod, furlong, fathom and acre on the international foot, so the old survey-based versions of those units are equally obsolete.
